MSU football joins Notre Dame, offers Indiana 2029 LB prospect
Michigan State football is the latest big-time program to get an early jump on the recruitment of a linebacker prospect from Indiana.
Austin Phillips of Kendallville, Ind. announced on Tuesday that he has received an offer from the Spartans. Per Phillips' social media X account post, he received the offer from Michigan State following attending a camp there on Tuesday.
Phillips is currently listed as an unranked and unrated prospect in 2029 class, according to 247Sports. He is listed at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, and plays linebacker for East Noble High.
Michigan State is one of the first few schools to extend an offer to Phillips, but they aren't the first to discover this future highly rated prospect. He now holds offers from Michigan State, Notre Dame, Louisville, Toledo and UNLV. Based on the schools showing interest already, I would anticipate he'll be getting a ton of more attention on the recruiting trail over the next few seasons.
