Jets' Aaron Glenn comments on latest QB Brendan Sorsby conversation

The Brendan Sorsby conversation refuses to go away. Since news surfaced that the talented quarterback intends to enter the supplemental draft rather than return to college football, speculation about potential landing spots has intensified. Unsurprisingly, the New York Jets have frequently been mentioned among the teams connected to him.

The logic is easy to understand. Despite adding veteran quarterback Geno Smith, the Jets remain one of several franchises that could benefit from identifying a long-term answer at the position.

This is precisely why organizations employ general managers, security personnel and player-engagement staffs. Their responsibility extends beyond evaluating talent. They must also determine whether the risks attached to a prospect are manageable.

That is where the real debate begins. The Jets may ultimately decide the concerns outweigh the potential reward. They may also conclude that the talent is too significant to ignore. Until a decision is made, speculation will continue.

Glenn’s public response may have slowed the conversation momentarily, but it certainly won’t stop it. As long as Sorsby’s name remains attached to the supplemental draft, the Jets will continue to be part of the discussion. The question is wheth
