Virginia adds lengthy former UCLA and Loyola Marymount guard
The Virginia Cavaliers had a successful first season under new head coach Ryan Odom, going 30-6 en route to earning a three seed in the NCAA tournament last year.
The Cavaliers somewhat flipped their perception under Odom, as they operated a highly-functional offense that averaged over 80 points per game. Virginia was also fourth in the ACC in assists per game, which highlighted the type of ball movement Odom looked to implement.
The program has landed guard Jan Vide via the transfer portal, who would appear to be a good fit for what Odom has established at Virginia so far. After playing sparingly in his first two college seasons, Vide became a full-time starter for Loyola Marymount in 2025-2026.

The 6-foot-6 guard out of Slovenia averaged 12.1PPG, 4.0APG and 3.0RPG this past season. Has also spent time at UCLA. https://t.co/Bno3eN426spic.twitter.com/xltIaQyvYg

He started all 27 games he played for the Lions last year, and averaged four assists per game.
Vide's length at 6-foot-6 also gives him the chance to be disruptive on the defensive end as a bigger guard.
