President Donald Trump plans to attend Alabama football vs Georgia: What we know

President Donald Trump plans to head back to Bryant-Denny Stadium for Alabama football.

Trump broke the news on Friday, Oct. 2, that he plans to attend Alabama’s home game against Georgia on Saturday, Oct. 10. He made the announcement while speaking at the Mitchell Center on the campus of South Alabama as part of a trip to the state ahead of the November midterm elections.

A University of Alabama athletics official told The Tuscaloosa News that they were unaware that any visit from Trump was confirmed, but that it was a possibility.

Trump would return to a matchup with which he is familiar, too.

"We love Alabama," Trump said. "In fact, we love it so much I'll be here again next Saturday to watch a football game between Georgia and Alabama. They say it's gonna be a good game. I would think so. One is rated No. 2, and one is rated No. 7, but that doesn't matter too much at this stage."

He previously attended Alabama’s 41-34 win over Georgia at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Sept. 28, 2024, while campaigning for president. Alabama, then ranked No. 4, built a 30-7 halftime advantage before No. 2 Georgia rallied to briefly take the lead late in the fourth quarter. Ryan Williams’ 75-yard touchdown reception ultimately put the Crimson Tide back ahead for good.

Trump was recognized inside the stadium during that 2024 appearance and watched the game from a suite.

Alabama is scheduled to kick off against the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. CT in Tuscaloosa with the game airing on ABC.
