Iowa basketball set to host visit for 2027 four-star forward

The Iowa men’s basketball program is coming off a significant recruiting win and is looking to capitalize on that momentum with additional commitments.

The Hawkeyes secured the commitment of four-star Ethan Harris over the weekend, giving them their first 2026 recruit and a wave of confidence heading into future recruiting battles. And that’s starting this week, as Iowa is set to host a talented 2027 four-star forward.

Sean Bock of 247Sports was the first to report that Ben McCollum and the Hawkeyes will be hosting Quinton Kitt this week for an official visit.

Kitt is a four-star forward prospect out of East Peoria High School in East Peoria, Ill. The 6-foot-6, 205-pound power forward will be visiting Iowa despite not having an official offer from the Hawkeyes yet. Per 247Sports, Kitt currently has six total offers from Illinois, DePaul, Northwestern, Bradley, Illinois State, and Toledo. He recently visited both Illinois and Indiana, and will continue his run of Big Ten visits with a trip to Iowa City this week.

Last season at East Peoria High School, Kitt averaged 23 points and eight rebounds per game as a sophomore. He then went on to play AAU ball with the Meanstreets 16U, where he averaged 14.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. It’s clear that Kitt already has a lot of talent and plenty of room to grow, which is why some marquee Big Ten programs have interest in him.

McCollum and the Hawkeyes are riding a nice wave of recruiting momentum and will look to parlay that into more big-time commitments. While Kitt doesn’t have an offer from Iowa yet, don’t be surprised if he leaves Iowa City this week with one. Kitt would be a big get for Iowa’s 2027 class and for the future of the program.
