Four standout Georgia players against Austin Peay
In the Georgia Bulldogs‘ not so pretty 28-6 win against Austin Peay there were a lot of things that Georgia may be looking to adjust. The Bulldogs have issues that to be addressed before they face their first true test of the 2025 college football season on Saturday against the No. 15 Tennessee Volunteers.
However, Georgia still had a few players that played well against Austin Peay. The Bulldogs tend to limit their playbook against lesser opponents, which could have been another factor in Georgia’s uneven performance.
“I don’t think it’s about him,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said about Gunner Stockton and the Georgia offense not performing as well in games as they do in practice. “I think it’s about the 11 people with him. When we say we want to see Gunner do that and see it carry over, it requires the 11 people doing exactly what they did in practice for him to have success. In an offensive unit, one guy can mess up, and that ruins that entire play.”

CB Ellis Robinson IV
Last season, there was a lot of chatter of why Robinson is not on field. Now, he is seizing his opportunity and he caught his first career interception in the second quarter. Robinson is competing for a starting spot against Daniel Harris and he is going to make it hard for Kirby Smart not to start him.
RB Chauncey Bowens
Bowens had 11 carries, 57 yards, and two touchdowns and looked like a Georgia running back. He was constantly making people miss, fighting for yards after contact and finishing runs forward. The former four-star saw action in four games last year and he has already surpassed his rushing yards total from last season. Through two games, Bowerns has 89 rushing yards.
WR Colbie Young
Colbie Young was as a player to watch in this game and he showed up big time being the leader in receptions and receiving yards going for seven receptions and 76 receiving yards. Young is a wide receiver that Georgia was missing last year and in this game he was looked at as Gunner Stockton’s safety blanket. Expect Young to continue to make plays and be an impact player.
LB CJ Allen
The junior linebacker has been on many preseason All-American list and this past Saturday Allen showed why he is apart of those list. Being tied as the leader in tackles (seven) and sacks (one). Allen’s leadership and play will needed going to a hostile environment like Neyland Stadium.
