Patrice Evra names Chelsea star he thinks could “shine” under Xabi Alonso
Former Manchester United star Patrice Evra wouldn’t be surprised to see Cole Palmer return to his best form under Xabi Alonso.

The Blues announced the appointment of Alonso earlier this month, with the 44-year-old signing a four year deal at Stamford Bridge.
Alonso officially begins work on July 1st, with the Blues facing a critical summer where they simply can’t afford to get recruitment wrong.

It was another difficult season for Chelsea, as the Blues finished tenth and missed out on European football all together.
A number of players simply didn’t perform to the level required or expected, with Palmer falling into that category.
The England international missed virtually the entire first half of the season with a troublesome groin injury, but once he returned in December he struggled to make an impact.
Palmer finished the season with ten league goals, but was left out of England’s World Cup squad by former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.
Having the summer off is certainly a benefit for Chelsea, and a full pre-season under Alonso is bound to be a positive.
Chelsea will be hoping Palmer can get back to his best form, and Evra believes the 24-year-old is capable of doing that.
“People forget Palmer has dealt with injuries several times,” he said as quoted on X.com.
“Sometimes players need one or two years to fully return to their best level.
“But knowing Xabi Alonso and the fact he accepted the Chelsea job, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Palmer shine again.”
