Tennessee Titans' Brian Callahan pushing for a more explosive offense in 2025
Before the Tennessee Titans hit the field for their first open practice session at Nissan Stadium, head coach Brian Callahan addressed the media and touched on a few topics from both sides of the ball and special teams.

One of the topics that came up was the offense, and whether there has been a change in philosophy with a new quarterback in control of the offense. While Callahan stated that the scheme will remain the same, the emphasis will shift slightly from efficiency to expansion.
“Nothing fundamentally about the scheme is going to change,” he said, “I think we were a team that were pretty aggressive taking shots down the field, but there is a balance. You still have to be efficient when required.”
The Titans must find a balance between efficiency and explosiveness in 2025, after struggling to establish any consistency on offense in 2024. As Callahan pointed out, it is challenging to consistently sustain time-consuming drives in the NFL, and defenses will adjust accordingly.
“There is an emphasis on trying to find ways to connect and be more explosive on offense in general.” He continued, “We’re trying to build an offense that plays to his (Cam Ward’s) strengths. He’s pretty adept at throwing the ball downfield, and he’s not afraid to be aggressive.”
The front office did its job in assisting with this change by adding some explosive young weapons to the roster, which adds a speed element that the team has lacked in the past. How will this all play out? It’s too early to tell, but it will definitely be something to keep an eye on as the Titans move deeper into training camp.
